The most popular is the city of Nevelsk. Several hundred pinnipeds have made set up home on the old Japanese breakwater and became one of the city's main attractions. These animals can be observed from March to June. By the way, local tourist companies offer trips to the breakwater by sea. The sea lions show are very interested in the tourists: they jump out of the water, snort, growl and often follow the boat, to the joy of tourists sitting inside.

Boats from Nevelsk also travel to Moneron Island, which is another home for this largest representative of the eared seal family (they reach up to 3.5 m in size and 1000 kg in weight).
