TIKHAYA BAY (SILENT BAY)

There is a place on Sakhalin that is not even marked on all maps, however, it really exists – a lonely corner of peace and silence, disturbed only by the noise of waves and screams of gulls.

The western part of the bay is enclosed by a spur of the most beautiful Sakhalin ridge named Zhdanko. Stone walls seem to hang over the bay - waves and pebbles carved the foot, forming freakish forms resembling the paws of huge monsters. During the walk, it’s impossible to miss the monolithic stone with a flat top - Zametniy (Noticeable).
